After a few chapters I realized that the characters were the same but with different names different locations different jobs but still exactly the same The cop who was terribly flawed The genius workaholic who was so gifted that no one got them Yeah I've read their stories before I didn't want to read them again So I won't and I suggest that you not bother with it

For years you see I've enjoyed the author's exploits of Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta This one isn't about her although similarities to both the good doctor and her tech savvy niece Lucy positively leaped out of the pages Rather this is the first in a new series featuring Captain Calli Chase a NASA pilot uantum physicist and cybercrime investigator whew The first thing that came to mind when I fi
