↠´ Turning Tides Û Download by ô Ruby McNally I was a little disappointed with this book After reading the synopsis I thought this book would be a must read for me The characters didn t seem to actually want to be together The way Charlie was with Joel really annoyed me there is only so much back and forth I can take and she took it too far I did really like Joy and felt for her being pregnant at that age and her father throwing her out was heartbreaking, I m glad they managed to sort things out The book also ended quite suddenly for me I would have liked to know if they stayed together and moved to the city and if Joel stayed away from a life of crime.
The story was really thought out it had the potential to be an amazing story I just think the characters weren t rig Paige s review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book ReviewsThis is a new author to me and wasn t sure about the premise but I really enjoyed Turning Tides.
I was drawn into the characters, Joel and Charlie immediately and quickly absorbed into their world.
I liked that characters in the book were relatable It s easy to see friends or family in any of the scenarios that the author wrote about.
Joel and Charlie were hitting the sheets pretty earlier on in their relationship They knew how to work each other into a frenzy I liked how Charlie was the aggressor She wasn t afraid to show her sexual side.
The pair also proved that they could become than lovers I liked the slow building of their friendship.
I thought her sister and Danny were cute They were dealing with so much but handling this sensitive issue so well.
Often times I thought Charl Cars Aren T The Only Things He Can Hot WireFresh Off An Eighteen Month Stint For Grand Theft Auto, Joel Graziano Heads For Sleepy Montauk With Nothing To His Name But An Ancient Buick And The Keys To His Grandmother S Rundown Beach CottageHe Fully Intends To Serve Out His Parole Fixing Boats, Keeping His Nose Clean, And Minding His Own Damned Business Unfortunately, The Locals Immediately Peg Him As An Interloper, And The Keenest Stare Belongs To His Sexy NeighborCharlotte Charlie Sanger Is Curious About The Man With The Double Sleeve Tattoos, But She S Got Problems Of Her Own Her Mother S Death Left Charlie In Charge Of Her Father And Teenage Sister The Result Joy S Pregnant And Dad Isn T Speaking To Either Of ThemSoon Charlie Is Sneaking Next Door To Lose Herself In Mind Blowing Sex It S Supposed To Be Just A Temporary Neighbors With Benefits Arrangement, But Joel Finds Charlie And Her Quirky Gaggle Of Family And Friends Growing On Him And He Dares To Hope That Charlie Could Be A Safe Place To Hang His HeartWarning Contains An Ex Con Who S Not Afraid Of Prison, Earning His Red Wings , Or Judgmental Yuppies, And A Townie Girl Who S Having Trouble Convincing Him She S Not Slumming An Awkward Visit From A Parole Officer, A Highly Mature Battle Of Who Can Care Less , And A Whole New Appreciation For Assume The Position This cover and premise is misleading, lol This isn t genre erotic or abusive dark romance The bedroom scenes aren t that extended and do not further the relationship development the way that the scenes outside the bedroom do They were raw, though, and the male lead enjoys dirty talk, lol Despite Joel s criminal record and his penchant for pillow talk, he is a big softy, and Turning Tides isn t dark, angsty, or demeaning in the way that a lot of New Adult fiction is except for Joel s nickname for Charlie, the female lead I was really surprised Blondie didn t raise any brows, but Charlie, otherwise, is pretty self confident and doesn t stick around when Joel mistreats her, which isn t often No abusive love interests here The plot revolves around ex con Joel s internal tug of war between his old life and his new and looks a lot like many relationsh With that smoking cover and the book blurb I was so hoping for some steamy, sassy between the Italian stallion and the feisty local But, sadly, this was just off the mark for me Charlie is not smart, not engaging and just not my kind of girl She is cold and seems a lot interested in getting drunk and messing around with her ex than she does building a life for herself I didn t find her to be involved with her sister, who lives with her and is expecting nor was she very influential with trying to build her family back up and mend her relationship with her father who don t even get me started.
Joel Graziano is described as I would have expected tall, big, muscled and tatted But he just was not on the mark for me as I liked Ruby McNally s debut series, but Turning Tides was weirdly flat I struggle to think of anything even marginally exciting about this book There was a scene that, I believe, was supposed to be shocking, yet it turned out boring I had zero connection with the protagonists, and the conflict was so so I have to say I m quite disappointed I think the present tense narration didn t work here at all.

Often times I thought Charlie and Joel acted a bit younger than their age I don t think they were as mature as their age.
This would have been a 5 star read for me but I felt that the story needed
Wow I m surprised this one isn t rated much higher I really enjoyed it.
I guess it has subtext than a lot of romance Like, I had to work a bit to figure out why the characters were acting like they were But I like that in a book, and these characters made a lot sense to me than a lot of others.
And I like it that the hero isn t an over the top alpha asshole He listens to the heroine and tries to do what she wants Wow, what a weenie Or, alternatively, what a good guy.
Anyway, I really liked it Flawed MCs, setting that shows the pros and cons of small town life, sex that s sometimes messy but still hot, three dimensional secondary characters including a non evil ex what s not to like I ve already bought another book by the same author I m looking forward to seeing what she s up to Turning Tides receives a 3.
75 turned tide stars Ruby McNally has a pretty solid view of her characters and the way she manipulates the story line was pretty good The book lost a star and a quarter for random issues I had with voice, tone, and a missing true wrap up ending Overall, I would say I d recommend this book because I most certainly didn t hate it.
The sex scenes are a pretty good time and can be intense The descriptions are something you should not be reading while in public The hero is set up to be redeemable and I suppose he is by the last page The heroine is set up to kind of need a bit of saving herself while saving the hero which she does I didn t fly through the pages but it wasn t a difficult read I wasn t completely sold but I liked it well enough to give it above a 3 star rating.
Joel Graziano is described as I would have expected tall, big, muscled and tatted But he just was not on the mark for me as the Italian stallion He did not have the dominance and arrogance that I love in my Italian men In fact, he seemed much happier to accept the shite that Charlie
