↠´ Turning Tides Û Download by ô Ruby McNally I was a little disappointed with this book After reading the synopsis I thought this book would be a must read for me The characters didn t seem to actually want to be together The way Charlie was with Joel really annoyed me there is only so much back and forth I can take and she took it too far I did really like Joy and felt for her being pregnant at that age and her father throwing her out was heartbreaking, I m glad they managed to sort things out The book also ended quite suddenly for me I would have liked to know if they stayed together and moved to the city and if Joel stayed away from a life of crime.
The story was really thought out it had the potential to be an amazing story I just think the characters weren t rig Paige s review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book ReviewsThis is a new author to me and wasn t sure about the premise but I really enjoyed Turning Tides.
I was drawn into the characters, Joel and Charlie immediately and quickly absorbed into their world.
I liked that characters in the book were relatable It s easy to see friends or family in any of the scenarios that the author wrote about.
Joel and Charlie were hitting the sheets pretty earlier on in their relationship They knew how to work each other into a frenzy I liked how Charlie was the aggressor She wasn t afraid to show her sexual side.
The pair also proved that they could become than lovers I liked the slow building of their friendship.
I thought her sister and Danny were cute They were dealing with so much but handling this sensitive issue so well.

Joel Graziano is described as I would have expected tall, big, muscled and tatted But he just was not on the mark for me as I liked Ruby McNally s debut series, but Turning Tides was weirdly flat I struggle to think of anything even marginally exciting about this book There was a scene that, I believe, was supposed to be shocking, yet it turned out boring I had zero connection with the protagonists, and the conflict was so so I have to say I m quite disappointed I think the present tense narration didn t work here at all.

Often times I thought Charlie and Joel acted a bit younger than their age I don t think they were as mature as their age.
This would have been a 5 star read for me but I felt that the story needed

Wow I m surprised this one isn t rated much higher I really enjoyed it.
I guess it has subtext than a lot of romance Like, I had to work a bit to figure out why the characters were acting like they were But I like that in a book, and these characters made a lot sense to me than a lot of others.
And I like it that the hero isn t an over the top alpha asshole He listens to the heroine and tries to do what she wants Wow, what a weenie Or, alternatively, what a good guy.
Anyway, I really liked it Flawed MCs, setting that shows the pros and cons of small town life, sex that s sometimes messy but still hot, three dimensional secondary characters including a non evil ex what s not to like I ve already bought another book by the same author I m looking forward to seeing what she s up to Turning Tides receives a 3.
75 turned tide stars Ruby McNally has a pretty solid view of her characters and the way she manipulates the story line was pretty good The book lost a star and a quarter for random issues I had with voice, tone, and a missing true wrap up ending Overall, I would say I d recommend this book because I most certainly didn t hate it.
The sex scenes are a pretty good time and can be intense The descriptions are something you should not be reading while in public The hero is set up to be redeemable and I suppose he is by the last page The heroine is set up to kind of need a bit of saving herself while saving the hero which she does I didn t fly through the pages but it wasn t a difficult read I wasn t completely sold but I liked it well enough to give it above a 3 star rating.
